JC, Ladyfisher, and all --- I just want to make a comment about all the downtime on the BBS and the chatroom here recently!

THANK YOU, and thank Ron your IT guy, for all the hard work, over the holidays no less, to fix this. I'm guessing it was a nightmare.

I do this stuff for a living too. I've had exactly the same things happen. In my experience it starts with a few scattered emails about "hmm, the BBS is sure getting flakey, just thought you should know." Then it's a few heated emails saying "Have I been banned? What's going on, I can't even log in!" Then it's a flood of emails............and hours poring over the system logs, and the final verdict being a corrupted database that gets worse everytime somebody posts a message. Then it's triage trying to figure out what you can save from the past and what you can't, what's corrupted and what's not.....hundreds of thousands of messages, and over 10,000 user accounts......and somehow importing them into new software.

SO -- THANK YOU! I missed my FAOL more than you can imagine.
