Boise ID.

I'm new to fly fishing, two years off and on. Live in Iowa so I don't get to fish for trout but maybe 4 times a year in spring creeks.
My sister moved to Boise ID. She don't know anything about fishing except they do some in Boise.(if she only knew)
I'm considering to go visit. Not ever fishing anything larger than spring creeks.

I'm looking for info on the Boise river. Is aug./sept. good time to be fishing that area? Suggestions on flys for that time of year.Places to fish on the river.
web sites to help in research. Anything would be helpful.

I did see that there is going to be a Fish-in later this year in ID, that would be my best bet for learning. Unfourtunately I can't make that. I wish I could.

there is lots of info out there about the boise river and the flies. It contains some nice bows and browns. there are a few of us on this site that live here in the boise valley that would be more then willing to help ya out just give us a shout.

The Owhyhee (in nearby Oregon) is a tailwater stream rich in vegatation that reminds me of Big Spring in State College, PA. You might really enjoy this gem. RR

I checked out The river keeper site. It was very interseting.
I did kinda expected to see more Rock/Bolders. I don't know why. Reading to many storys maybe.
It did make me want to go even that much more.
