Jack, I think you sent me a couple of leaders back when I hosted a swap you were in. I bet the Berkely Vanquish will turn out great!

If the 6/0 Uni thread leader is a 10/8/6 taper it will be about a 12 lb. leader. A 10/8/6 formula is about 3 times the break strength of the thread.
I'm about to do some in 4# Berkley "Vanish" Flourocarbon. 6.5 foot 10/8/6 taper. These should sink well and turn over a large fly on 5 foot of 4X tippit.

Jack, do I understand your furling jig is one with the pegs divided into a third of the length? I.e., the first peg on the right would be 1/3 the length, the first peg on the left would be 2/3 the length, with the third peg in the center at the end? Then I'm assuming for the 10-8-6 taper you start with five strands between the hook and the first peg, then three strands around the end peg and up to the left peg, then five strands again from the left peg to the end hook. I've been using this setup and it seems to yield a nice taper, yet is quick to make. Would appreciate your thoughts. Incidently, I've made some from 2# Vanish fluoro for lighter weights (probably from 3 wts to 5 wts) and they turned out okay.

My 6.5' leader spacing is 24"(Butt), 30"(Center), 30"(Tippit)
