Default Help restoring a 1929 11' Hardy Spey rod.......what colors?

I have been working on a restoration (or should I say a resurrection) of a 1929 Hardy 11 foot two handed spey rod. The rod belongs to the owner of the local fly shop and he wants it returned to fishable condition while still keeping the correct look and style of the original.

Can someone help me with colors of thread and colors of guides and agate? It seemed to have red thread throughout with multiple six turn intermediate wraps also in red. The ferrules and hardware are brass and polished up very nicely. I would prefer to class it up a little with white (clear) wraps and tipping but I don't want to mess up the look. Suggestions?????

    Thanks in advance, Barry
