    Default bauer reels

Looking for your experience with Bauer reels. Think to buy (MSL). Is anything bad to say ? How would you compare to others (lamson, ross, etc).
I have heard very different views.

    Hi James,

Nice article. I believe that principle could be used for many things.
As for Bauer - I like reel, weight & price are not an issue. I just wanted to know how reliable it is.
So, if I am confident - it should work well.
    OK, will see.

Forester,i got some info for you.I had originally owned a galvan ob2 and sold it to buy a bauer superlite m.5 to balance two short 6' 3 weights.I sold the three weights and still used the bauer.I had problems with the drag and i know that k&k flyfishers are quit selling them. You could adjust the drag knob, pull line from the reel and the drag knob would loosen with the spool turning backwards,i guess thats what i mean?I sent the reel back to cabelas and rebought another galvan ob2,happy again!

I personally have loved my Bauers, smooth as silk and set to silent, it just let's you enjoy the scenery. I have only used their trout reels though.

JC, great article by the way, enjoyed the read.

Own seven Bauer reels. Never a problem. Highly reccomend. Ours get fished hard on some very large fish and perform flawlessly. Also, I don't own any Bauer stock.

A Bauer M1 SL is one of my all-time favorites. It is now wedded to a sweet little Diamondglass 6'6"-3 wt. Couldn't be happier with that combination.
