Do you use dragon fly nymphs? Which one works better for you?

We have size 8 or maybe smaller naturals here where I live. They are two-tone brown and tan. A type of big-eyed bead-chain with thickly dubbed abdomen and thorax and a hackle collar behind the eyes should come pretty close to looking like one. Most patterns like the Briminator have a short, soft, tail of something like marabou but the natural has no tail. The Briminator has a standard dubbed body up to the eyes with a hackle collar behind the eyes. It would be a good pattern to begin with.

    Briminator
    Hook: Mustad 3366, size 8 or 10
    Eyes: Bead chain (gold)
Tail: Bottom half of hen feather
Body: Brown rabbit dubbing, Spirit River Depth Advantage dubbing, Lite Brite or Wapsi Super Brite Steelhead dubbing
Hackle: Front half of hen feather, speckled brown or Whiting black lace hackle

A Hum Bug might be another one worth trying.

These are only two examples. There are a lot more . Take your pick. One may work better for you than another. Try to find the natural on your home waters and then find one of the many dragonfly nymph patterns that's as close to it as you can get .

I use this one with great success
    hook 6-8
    tail olive or brouwn maraboo
    body olive or brown maraboo
    thread to match body
    eyes monifiliment to match body

tie on your eyes, tie in the tail about the same length as the hook, then wrap the remainder of the maraboo for the body tieng off just infront of the eyes form head glue and fish
