    Default Cape Cod Stripers

    Hey guys,

I'm heading down to west yarmouth in the cape next weekend and would like to tie a handful of striper flies. I have not yet had the opportunity to fly fish the cape, so I?m a little unsure about what flies to tie. If anyone has any recommendations they would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Doug Goulding

Ray's Fly is easy to tie and effective
    Deceivers and Clausers are staples
Chartreuse or white bunny strip flies can work
    Sand Eel imitations
I bet crabs might work too.
You could also tie black eel imitations if you'd like

hey, I was there about two weeks ago and all my stripers came on an all white deciever 2/0 hook with a bit of red crystal flash as gills. Good luck, I used a full heavy sinking line and found alot of schoolies on the rising tide.

    Doug:

I see you are in Scituate. Fine fishing there as well. You should take a trip to Baymen Outfitters. They have a nice selection of flies. They are in Duxbury right near by you.

    Doug and BB:
Family and I are making our first trip NE for the fall colors- for me a "rainbow" of colors . Will be starting in W. Yarmouth Wednesday night 10/11 and staying for 2 days. Thinking about chasing some black and white stripes too in the early AM before everyone gets up. How was the bite? Do you fish the open ocean or the Lewis Bay?
Oh, if any of you local W.Y. FFer wouldn't mind chiming in, I'd really appreciate your input also.
    Thanks
    Quinn

Have fun! No advice to add, but here in CT it's prime striper season. You'll have a blast.
