Pa Now requires you take a safe boating course if you are registering a power boat...And the rules of the road including alcohol apply to the boating in PA waters...
Seen quite a few boats boarded and the operators escorted down river by commission officers while on the river, People just don't think having beer onboard is something they will be concerned about..but they soon get the rude awakening they deserve..Pa has some of the strictest boating laws in the country,And they are getting even more so with each passing year.
I was recently talking with a friend at work who says that beginning next spring,Anyone under 21 will have to take a boating course to be able to operate a powered watercraft.
seems like a good idea..

Alabama now requires a license to drive any motorized watercraft. You must take a test to get a license and there is an age limit to drive. DUI's are treated just like in a motor vechile.
