Went out yesterday to a pond. Wind was blowing 20mph. Got a dozen crappie about a foot long and 7 gills.
Most on a gold ribbed alpaca fly.
Temps are headed down today and I think the ponds will ice over in the next few days.

It's 20 mph considered a gentle breeze in Iowa? Congrats on the catches between getting roped into going back to work and my granddaughter fishing has become something I used to do. But, the granddaughter is worth it.

Nest day we had steady 25 mph wind with just up to 40.
