    Default Ace In The Hole Softhackle







    Playing around with a fall/winter steelhead pattern.

    hook - WFC Model 6 #10
    thread - Danville 6/0 black
    tag - flat waxed chartreuse
    rib - small wire silver
    body - dubbing purple
    body hackle - purple
    1st shoulder - hen black
    2nd shoulder - hen grizzly dyed Silver Doctor Blue (2 packs Koolaid Ice Blue Raspberry/1 cup water)

    I agree a beautiful fly.

    Would you describe the method for the head.
    Very clean looks as if its stem and not simply black thread..
    What is applied over top, the way it plays into the body
    is very nice.
