Giving the old Michigan style a NorCali flair. Changed up a few things from a pic I found on the interweb; swapped out teal flank tail for moose body. Probably should have used black thread for ribbing with a dark tail and grizzly hackle; next time.

hook - Dai Riki 300 #10
thread - UTC 140 rusty brown
tail - moose body hair
body - deer hair
rib - tying thread
wing - deer hair
hackle - grizzly

Part 1

mash barb, start thread at 2/3 mark; wrap to bend

clean, stack, measure (hook length) a clump of moose; tie in/trim

clean, stack, measure (tips just past bend) a clump of deer hair; trim butts, tie in with 2 soft loops, let it surround shank without releasing tips

spiral thread to bend

pull tight to flare tips, then spiral back, crossing previous wraps

clean, stack, measure (shank length) another, thicker clump of deer hair; tie in at eye, wrap butts back to 2/3 mark, trim
