Does anyone use tungsten putty in tying or fishing. I stumbled up on it in pinewood car racing websites.

Yup. Been around for a while now, probably from the same source. More useful for fishing than tying in my mind. Some swear by it, I'm indifferent myself.
I've used it for fishing, but not tying. For fishing, it's kind of love hate deal for me. I like the extra density (compared to tin), but it's hard to get the putty to stay in place on tippet. It's either too stiff when it's cold or too soft when it's warmer.
For tying, tungsten beads and tungsten wire are very useful. A 3 mm tungsten bead will get my fly down without additional weight in many circumstances.
I use Loon’s Deep Soft Weight for my nymph fishing. IMO, much better than traditional shot, which gets hung much more.
Never used it in tying, and struggling to see how you would...
I have used both of these products. I have been using tungsten putty for quite a few years, particularly in high flows in the Spring. I purchased the tungsten shot for a trip to MT this past Fall and found it a worthwhile investment for fishing the Firehole and Madison in Yellowstone National Park...
