    Default Graphite rod refinish?

Before I go and do something stupid - again - can I refinish a graphite rod? The finish is milky/scratchy in places and I would like to spiff it up. I plan on rewrapping the guides but want to get all my brain on the same page before I start.
    Thanks for any advice.

    Mike,

I dont' think there is any problem in doing that.
It shouldn't be too bad, especially since you are planning to re-wrap the rod.

Although I have never done it, I think that Permagloss is one of the preferred products for coating a blank.
    I'd check into that.

    Hope this helps.

    Brian,
Thanks very much! I'll look into Permagloss for recoating. This is a rod that replaces a similar rod that went swimming on me! Any more advice is certainly welcome!

Would the permagloss used very lightly be enough to remove some light scratches on a graphite rod?
