Guide Spacing Chart?

I've read several charts and they all tend to be slightly different. Which 'guide spacing chart' or formula do you use and why? Also, would you space the guides differently for a 4 piece?
I am building a 6-1/2 foot, 4 piece, 2 weight.

Keep in mind those spacing charts should be a starting point. Different charts come from different blank actions. You really should static test your blank to be sure that your spacing matches your blank's curve when it is loaded. If not, you could be creating a focal point for the stress when you are fighting your fish. And that could cause breakage. Static tests don't take long, and are simple to do. I highly encourage everyone to do it when building a rod.

I second ol' blue on this one! I actually don't use a chart at all. I set my guides based on previous rods I like, static test, cast test, make any adjustments, and tye 'em on. It's not vey scientific or math oriented, but I am pleased with the results. Every blank is different, even identical models. This is why testing is so important.
