Thread: Dangers of Crossing to the Dark Side

Default Dangers of Crossing to the Dark Side

I did not know if this should be here, Rod Building, Sound Off or a new topic should be added, "Damaged Goods" or "Idiot".

Several months ago, I decided to undertake a bamboo rod restoration project. At that time, I was of relative good health, not sure about the mind.

While undergoing this project, I have managed to slice the outside of my left index finger to the bone and proceeded to loose the feeling in half of that finger. Not really a big deal, a blob of super glue, holding it together for twenty minutes and bingo. Not a big deal? I can't feel the materials while I attempt to pretend I can tie a fly.

Somewhere along the way, I managed to accomplish a detached vitreous in both eyes. No big deal. Put wax paper over both eyes and try to tie a fly, find the hook eye with the tippet or wrap a few guides.

Now through all of this, I am managing to get this rod finished. This morning, I am putting a tip on a rod. Piece of cake. Eyes that can't focus, finger that has no feeling until a blob of hot cement falls on that finger. It took a moment but low an behold, Feeling. Hot, Hot, very hot. I didn't realize it was burning.

I swear this is the curse of bamboo. I have another bamboo rod that needs restoration.

Do you really think for a minute I would put myself in harms way again?

    You bet. Can't wait.

I cut my finger to the bone while cutting a shim for a reel seat.
Didn't think of the super glue cuz my wife was in a shear panic to get me to the hospital.

While the ER Dr was putting 11 stitches in my finger he mentioned that I may loose some feeling in the finger but it could come back in time as the nerves sometimes grow back together...after 7 years they have not yet...I have given up.

Just a little encouragement from one who's been there as still is.

    Hey rookie,

Boy, sounds as if the Bamboo curse has your number, and is making an example out of you.

Somehow I ended up with the same Boo curse many years ago and have had many strange occurances happen in my life.

I think it comes from the first moment you actually touch a stalk of that pesky weed. There must be some kind of chemical transfer that starts a chain reaction, eventually reaking havic in all areas of your life, physically, mentally, emotionally, monetarily, and we don't need to talk about the affects that it has on marriage!

It may be time for you to get rid of those wicked weeds before you have anymore BooBoo's in your life.

There is a board member here that specializes in Bamboo removal and the ensuing therapy necessary to move past this horrific addiction, thus returning your life back to some kind of normallcy.

His name is Ron Eagle Elk, he is well prepared to help you with your Boo problem's. I have listed his contact info for you to notify him of your need of his assistance and counceling.

If your Boo weeds have specific names such as, Payne, Dickeson, Orvis, Granger, Isaac, Fitch, Clark, Howell, or Paul Young, these are the nastiest of the strains of these weeds. These notorious culms cause the most destruction in your life, you must get rid of them NOW! before anymore terrible things happen to you!

Pick up the phone and call REE, and make arrangements to ship every piece of that nasty wood you have to him. Whatever you do, do not miss a single piece, it will take root and grow back on you; only causing further destruction in your life.

This is sage advice from someone who left just one old H L Leonard in the wood shop. I didn't think it would hurt! This has caused numerous catastrophic events to unfold in my life, and has caused my eventual need to call REE and elicit his services.

If I may be of any assistance as a support buddy for you after you've had your cane removed, please just let me know.

You must act quickly and call REE, I here that his schedule is filling up and he's very busy helping out the many who are afflicted with this highly contageous curse!

His contact info is as follows:

    Dr. Ron Eagle Elk
    B.A.T. specialist, (Bamboo Addiction Therapy)
    1-800-Giv-Emup

I hope that my intervention has caught you just at the right time to help you before anymore wicked and dangerous things unfold from your association with this devistating weed.

    Your support buddy,

I can't wait to see what happens on the next one. It will be a new chapter.

This, People, is why it pays to return to the archives, and re visit the knowledge found here. Been a long time ago, and in some ways, in a land far away, with hearts known to us then. Please don't forget them.
