It warmed up a little today and I went out for a couple hours. These are about what the average bass ans gills were today. Not real big but so much fun!

Heck of a lot bigger than the trout I didn't catch today.
What did you catch them on? I may go warm water fishing tomorrow afternoon.

I keep forgetting to look for purple chennille. Purple worms were my favorite for years and I have done pretty good with purple prince nymphs.
What I really need is a couple of MS style farm ponds. I went out to a 50 - 100 acre lake today, no strikes, no hits, no errors. At least I didn't feel bad about forgetting my camera.

Next time you are down here I would love to take you fishing. I have sole access to a 14 acre pond chock full of bream!

Boy, twist my arm like that again. I need to make a stop in metro Jackson. I have a very good friend in Madison where I camp out and need to call on a couple of company, visit my high school football coach and see the girl I have had a crush on since 5th grade.

good stuff!!
Stating up in the low 70's all week!
played around for about an hour today but should get a good half day thursday and friday. These were typical of the bass and bream today. The bream were all pretty good sized copper nose and the bas were all about 1 to 1 1/2 pounds

Up here in PA we call bream bluegills. That sure is a wide body in the picture. I just love filleting a bunch. I caught some through the ice a few weeks back and I filleted them. Then I mixed some flour, old bay seasoning, garlic powder and pepper in a ziplock bag, through in the fillets like shake and bake, then fried 'em in olive oil and a bit of margerine. My mother just loves them.
We call bluegills, bluegills also, sometimes we call a birddog a pointer, but sometimes we just call him a dog. Pretty much the same thing.
As for the width of the bluegill in the photo, he has small hands, couldn't palm a basketball until he was 6 years old.
