I got the flies today. Great ties everybody.

BTW, I used the "Take two, they're small" approach to my ice flies. Color variations are endless. Brassies and Copper Johns are used as ice flies too, but the lighter neutrally bouyant flies have their place too. The fuzzy lump on the chartreuse one should be trimmed to achieve the slightest sink with your line. When you get to the depth you are finding fish at, lift and let it drop slowly. The fish are cold and lethargic, the metabolism is almost nonexistant. The really slow fall matches the speed of everything else in the lake. The bright colors help with visibility under the ice. They come in all colors, and two sizes. Small and really small. I usually fish 16-24 trying out flourescent, metallic and tinsel bodies until I fin one that is geting strikes. I usually don't use wire or rib because it can make the fly heavier than I like. The fish will usually do a slow inhaling take, and a heavier fly will not get sucked into the fishes mouth as easily.

Good luck, and have a great 2010,
    Dave
