were you nice enough to "invite" one or two for dinner and a round of fly tying?

Ya, well, about that- My wife says they are pets. She feeds them all year long. You'd think the least they could do is feed us one day a year.

I'm enjoying my turkey day the same time as you southlanders (sort of...tuesday instead of thursday but how do you watch football and the Macy's Parade if you're cooking?) due to missing the Canadian Thanksgiving by being in the middle of the Pacific. I must admit, I wish t was one of those wild turkeys rather than a store-bought frozen one. Do the wild ones taste similar to the farm-raised variety?
Backcastwards,
Your post reminds me of the joke: a farmer and his family are raising this pig to eat. One night his house catches fire and the pig wakes his family and they get out of the house unharmed.
The insurance adjuster comes to the house and the farmer tells him the story of the fire and how the pig saved them. The adjuster looks at the pig running around and states that's some pig. He leaves the farmer a check and tells him he will stop back in a week.
The adjuster stops back to check on progress and notices the pig is missing a leg. He doesn't say anything but tells the farmer he will stop back in a week. He comes back in a week and notices the pig is missing another leg. This time he asks the farmer what had happen and the farmer states you don't expect us to eat a good pig like that all at once.
Thanks Old Man GO IRISH!
We pray that everyone has a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving, and that you take time to remember our many blessings. Regardless of the many problems our country has, we are still remarkably blessed.
