    Thumbs up Thank You Cortland!

In January, I sent a note off to the Cortland line company to see how I could get a part for an older Cortland reel (LTD 120).

Tom Brown wrote back and said to just send it in for a guarantee repair. I sent the 10 bucks for shipping with the reel and a note.

The box got to their shop on the 3rd and was shipped back ON THE 3rd!!

    Now that's a good turnaround.

I now have a nice reel, ... good as new all ready for another season !!!

Thanks Tom and the gang in Cortland NY for a job well done.

I guess they really mean "lifetime guarantee".
It seems today that saying means nothing because they usually say........"That product has been discontinuted and we no longer support it".
Good fishing technique trumps all.....wish I had it.

    Good for Cortland.

Ya ... I was really surprised by Tom's note. My reel is not the LTD we see in the catalog, but rather an older regular arbor graphite model. The reel came back like brand new.

It is a reel I bought a long time ago ... I have no idea where. After a few seasons I thought, ... once it breaks down, I'll spring for a "fancy" reel.

It is still one of my workhorse reels. As a testament to it's toughness, it is the reel I usually lend to clients when I find that their gear isn't quite up to the task. So it gets bumped and scraped. Dropped in the sand ... you name it.

It says "Made in England" on the back, ... but I sure am happy that a North American Company is looking after it!

Thanks again to Tom Brown and the gang in New York.
