Catman, not sure what you are saying, but I bet is felt good getting that off your chest....LOL

Ironhead, Back in the day you could get a beetle for $100. Boy that sure changed didn't it, and I do remember when Japan made automobiles were the POOR MAN'S (or womans) car and Pick-ups were for the working man.

And unfortunately, even Snap-On is outsource now.

A hand painted painting can bring quite a dollar, but the copy..........no
But they are both beautiful, and now ANYONE can own one.

    Default Even Snap-On?

    Well, actually, Snap-On was already
outsourcing some stuff when I was still
in the trade but I never had to buy any
of it. I'm nearly certain all mine is good
ole Kenosha WI made. I see Snap-On is
    trading well on the NYSE...

There was never any question among my
peers that Snap-On tools were superior
    to Craftsman tools.

    Cheers,

MM, I've been in the industrial machine end of mechanics (JLG, Genie aerial lifts, Yale, Caterpillar. and Taylor forklifts and Grove Cranes) for 30 years as of January. I started back in '79 with Craftsman tools. It didn't take me long to discover Snap-On and Mac. I got tired of going to Sears once a week to replace combination wrenches that had spread, broken sockets, screwdrivers etc. So I started to buy Snap On and Mac tools.
I've got the same set of Snap On combination wrenches and sockets (metric and SAE) I bought in the early '80's.
Now with most of my career behind me, I can go to Harbor Freight and buy throw away tools and it won't bother me. This is a testament to you do get what you pay for. Snap On served me well.

    Default MD not BS

Blue sky actually has a lot of value. Monkey dust, well, that's a whole 'nother story.
