New 6wt!
Just ordered a TFO Pro 6wt. How many that have one of these here upline to 7wt? I'm gonna streamer/nymph fish for trout and throw buggers and med poppers for bass. Did this for a while with a med-fast 8'6" 5wt but really had to push it for distance. From controversy in the past, I almost hate to overline. Didn't want a 7wt rod. Thanks!

It won't be 'overlined' if you keep your casts short.
Just use the line on that rod that works the best for you and your needs.
rio clouser line should do the trick quite nicely

What about...
Orvis now has a Warm Water "Big Bug" Line or you could try Mastery's Headstart line which is a 1/2 wt heavier. I use a Bass bug taper for my 6wt and it tosses some good sized flies.

You won't hurt that rod with a 7wt. line, or an 8. But, don't forget that todays lines are made a half weight heavier, so your 7 is 7 1/2 etc. The SA XPS is true weight for those who use slower rods with lots of flex.
And, what JC said, keep your casts within reason; 50-60 feet with minimum false casting; actually, if you overline, the rod will load quicker and you shouldn't need a lot of false casting to get line out. Now, if you need log distance, underline one weight!
