new thinner mounting "foot" for orvis battenkill reel?

does anyone know where I can get a thinner mounting "foot" for my older orvis battenkil reels? they are from about 1998 and are the disc drag models 3/4 and 5/6. I'd like to get a mounting foot to fit the newer, smaller reelseats that have become popular in the last few years.

If you have an Orvis dealer nearby, take your reel there and see if the current model reel foot is any different than yours (I suspect it isn't, but there's only one way to be sure) If it is, maybe the store will be able to order a new reel foot, or more likely they will send the reel back to VT and have it changed for a nominal fee.

The other option is to remove the reel foot and CAREFULLY grind it down to fit the reel seat of your choice. I did this ages ago with a Medalist that I wanted to fit onto a sliding-band reel seat, and it worked out fine.
