When I use and indicator, I use an "insta-set" brand. These will indicate whether you have a drag free drift or not. You will be surprised at the results. I was having way too much tippet and leader...
Speaking of knives, check out my friend's knife building talent...........that man can make anything and he does it well. http://larrysknifeshop.com/
Cheffy's advice is spot on...............as a business owner for 40+ years, don't waste your time with the BBB. That outfit is a joke................good luck and get going to get a rod back in your...
Do what pillcaster said.
My kids, who are over 30 years old, have never and will never see me without a beard...........shaved it off once in 1980 for a business trip to Singapore, when I got back, started to grow it back...
I'm glad Gfen chimed in with the facts from PAFF.........One thing for sure, if I ever run into that scam artist on a stream here in Pa, he'll take a bath..........
Iceman, I can't help, but I fish the NFork of the South Branch of the Potomac just about 1 mile from the Smoke Hole Caverns. If you go on the WV Anglers site, I'm sure those guys will give you plenty...
Rob, you made the right size choice. I wear a 9.5 shoe and I wear size 11 Beans wader boots.
Happy belated birfday..........
To me, it will always be the Castwell knot.
fly caster99, I can't help with your question, but since you are in Singapore, is the Maro Polo Hotel still standing? That was my home for a month or so back in '80........just wondering..........
While steelhead fishing in upstate NY, I looked down in the creek from a small bridge and there it was..........a very large hog that had been skinned and beheaded and his feet removed. Don't know...
Yup! Can't go wrong with the koldkutter studs. Works every time. I personally use the 5/8" length. goes into the sole of the boot a little and have had zeor problems.
I have several Orvis Battenkills, however, my best inland trout reel is a Lamson Litespeed 1.5. If I ever buy another reel it will be a Lamson. IMO the best drag for the money.
rawfish, here's a link to Loren Williams' website. http://www.flyguysoutfitting.com/ you won't find a better guide in NY for local or big fish....good luck
Anyone ever fish at this place? Harmons Cabins in West Virginia. They stock the heck out of the river. I'll be there is two weeks. Wife can sit along the river right at our cabin and I can fish all...
I think that if Simms wants to be a retailer, then don't wholesale. All they are going to do is screw their present dealers with this set up. I own a retail store in the home furnishing business and...
I am mainly a nymph fisherman. I just purchased an Orvis Helios in the 10', 4wt. and I like it alot. However, when I change streams, say the next day, and switch to the 6', 3wt. it does take a few...
Kirk, you will not be in the area of State College if you are going to be in Laceyville. The best bet for you in to head over to the PAFF website, join the forum and ask away. I'm not familiar with...
Deb, good for you! If what happened to you, happened to me, I don't think I could even look at a pic of a bear without getting the shakes.
Lamson reels are the best. Just go on you tube and search for Lamson reels. There's videos on the reels about each model right from the mfgs.
Go to a dirt bike shop and get the screws for ice racing. They have a deeper head than sheet metal scews and then do what Joe said.
It's vanilla for sure, but all the guys I used to work with that were from Shamokin argued that a CMP was chocolate ice cream with marshmellow creme and peanuts. And that what I called a CMP was a...
Hey fishdog54, since you are from Shamokin, what flavor of ice cream comes with a CMP sundae?..........I know what you are going to say and it's wrong! :)
