Dogs and hackle
Have two small dogs who are about a year and a half old
Left the door to my tying area open. Returned home to find one of my best saddles all over the living room

 ...that hurts! They never seem go for the $5 starling skin.....

Bird dogs are my guess. One of my cats has an affinity for bucktail.

And of course we CANNOT stay upset with our buddies as it IS OUR fault for leaving a door open, cape lying around, or......
Our animals help us "clean-up" too sometimes.

Got a cape that looks just like that, thank goodness it's just a hen. The thing that always worries me is finished flies, with hooks in them. But haven't ever had to take one out of a dog's mouth, knock on wood.

I hate to see that, but I can relate to the loss. I try to keep the door to my tying room closed. We keep the dogs in the kitchen area, but they have ventured out into the house on occasion and into my room. The last time she ate 10 grey squirrel tails that I had given to me. No great loss as far as value, but none the less, a bit of a mess to clean up. You can't blame them as they're only doing what dogs are meant to do, which is scavenge and take advantage of any tasty morsel they come across. Sorry for your loss though.

It was maddening and funny at the same time. I think they look for trouble when we leave them home alone!
Certainly no longer mad at them
Herefishy: was a very nice Dun saddle patch. Hackle in the 16 and 18 size.

I feel your pain. I have some cats that have an affinity for fur and feathers. Luckily, they haven't gotten into anything expensive, yet. Nor have I had to try and remove a hook from a squirming, P.O.'ed cat.

Look at the photo of our dogs.......couldn't be angry with them...........
