Anyone here had experience with the Stowaway 7 pieces 10wt? I need a fly rod for tarpon, not very expensive. The cost is $150.

i have the stowaway 8 wt and i am extremely impressed with it. but i've never hooked a tarpon with it!
I believe there was a review on 10 - 12 wt. rods in Flyfish America (a free magazine). They suggested that some rods were just not up to the job, so you might want to check that out.

Many of the lower cost rods tend to be weak in the butt section - the area where you want some muscle for fighing large fish. Five to seven piece rods tend to be suspect in this area. You might look a the Redington CPS and RS3 models, Bass Pro Gold Cup and Cabelas XST as well as the TFO Professional and TiCr models. You also might find a discontinued Winston Ibis or St. Croix Avid for a good price.
