Checking on interest in 2-part Flea Market Swap
Idea 1 - Would anyone be interested in a 2-part swap. First part - send in a single tying material (excluding hooks or tying thread) enough to tie 12 (or more) flies. For example a gently used buck tail, squirrel tail, foam sheet, neck patch, etc... These to be mailed to the Swapmeister . Second part - An item will randomly be assigned (then mailed) mailed to you to be used in tying your 12 flies, send in (with toe tags) and we will finish the exchange as usual. What do you think?
Idea 2 - Another swap idea is a Lottery Swap - all registrants would be assigned (via lottery) a fly tying technique or style. For example, if we had 6 openngs there might be the following techniques/styles - woven bodies, dubbing loop, woven hackle, Matuka, Thunder Creek, and hair hackle. After being given your technique/style you tie 6 flies utilizing that technique/style to send in for the exchange. Maybe give some of the many middle-of-the-road experienced tiers a chance to spread thier wings a bit or a more experienced tier a chance to shake a little rust. Any ideas on this one as well??
As always - HAVE FUN!
