Reel seat ?
1st time builder, I received my first rod blanks this weekend and have started the building process. Found the spline, fitted the grip, and marked the guide placement. The question I have is should I install the reel seat before I wrap the guides or after ? I've seen it done both ways. Just looking for your preferances.
Thank in advance!

I fit and epoxied the hand and real seat at the same time. While the epoxy is setting up and drying, you can be working on guide placement, wrapping guides and ferrules. Good luck.

I'm a rookie but have read multiple posts that people align and place their guides...with a reel mounted. They can then experiement where they want the guides and shift and align them by sight....and with a test line in place..... to get it right. With that in mind it would seem better to have the reel seat in place before doing the guides.

I always assemble the reel seat and grip first.

Thanks, Got the reel seat on and started wrapping the guides. I'm sure glad that I practiced wrapping on an arrow shaft, things are going pretty smooth. Already thinking about the next rod!
