Happy, happy birthday, Paul!!!!
Paul, I hope you have a great birthday. I hope all is well with you. Jim
Hey Paul. Haven't seen you on here for awhile. I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday. Hope it was a good day and that all is well with you. Jim
3 times Grandpa???? GOODNESS!!!! Aren't they grand!!??!! I'm late responding,as we've had the 13 yr old granddaughter with us all week! I'm exhausted!! We have had bouts of cancer here. Cary had surgery just about two years ago for prostate cancer, and is doing very well. I continue to continue with the PV, which is a form of blood neoplasm. It's treated with chemotherapy, and as long as I continue taking it, and the blood thinners, and the phlebotomies, I continue!! I'm fearful to ask why you are asking ..... A golf instructor ... I don't know! Should be teaching them flyfishing! Does sound like you are enjoying your retirement! Enjoy those grandbabies! Hugs, Betty
Paul, Good to see you on board! Hope all is well with you and yours! Betty
Paul, Tom (jgestar) came to the fly tying group last night. Wish I'd had more information about your rods to give to him ... or pick his brain! He'll be there next Thursday, too. If you can provide me with some more information, or a picture, I will gladly find out what I can for you!! Hugs, Betty
LOL!!! I wasn't off more than two minutes when it dawned on me that Tom's name here is jgestar, too!!! DUH!!! He's really knowledgeable on his rods!
Hey, Paul!!! I don't have much information about fiberglass rods and old bamboo rods ... as far as prices go ... BUT ... someone/s who would know would be found right here ... http://fiberglassflyrodders.yuku.com/directory. "jgestar" is the head guy there. He's on FAOL too, but for the life of me, I can't think of his name on here! Those guys know fiberglass! Cary and I are both doing really well! I'm sooooo ready to get out and fish! He's anxious, too, but with the side effects of prostate cancer surgery, he's anxious in more than one way. My affliction is a neoplasm with the blood. Fortunately for me, it is treated as a chronic disorder. As long as I stay on the chemo (oral prescription) and phlebotomies, with close monitoring, I'll do pretty good! As soon as my mind catches up with my typing, I'll let you know Tom's name here on FAOL. Do, if you've got a few minutes, check out the other website! Hugs, Betty
Paul, How are you? The Orvis reel went with me and was the only one I used. I coupled it to a 9' 5wt Ross worldwide 4 piece rod. It worked fantastic. I managed to catch 4 small trout on it on my one time out. When I got it I unwound all the line and put on a new 50 yard 20lb backing and tied that to a furled leader. That worked out good. Thanks, Jim
Happy, happy birthday!! Hope you get to do everything you want to do on this special day!! Big hugs! Betty
