While you were gone, I did quite a bit of fishing with a Tenkara. Follow the link for reports on my experience and input from some very experienced Tenkara fly anglers.

Sounds like you had a great time with your experiment. The rig you set up is probably better for nymphing than the Tenkara rods. But the Tenkara rods are great for "close quarters" dry fly fishing, which is what I was doing with them.

We have never met but Jim Williams told me you lived in Tucson so I wanted to ask a question. Last spring I found some fly boxes filled with nice flies at Becker lake. I have been unable to locate the owner but did find out that person could be from Tucson. Have you heard of anyone down that way who lost their flies? If so please contact me so I can return them.
