I am starting to get excited. Can't wait to see and fish the rod. Out of curiosity, what weight do you think it is? I am thinking either a 6 or 7wt. Seems to me that I started with a 7 when I first got the rod. But that was so long ago I can't remember. Seems to cast a 6wf fairly well.

Fully hand scraped to remove the old varnish. Marked for new guides. Tips straightened.
She's going to be a dandy!!
Slowed down a couple days with the surgery, but pluggin' right along now!

Just out of curiosity ... when the rod was last rewrapped, were the guides put back in their original positions?

Betty. I am glad you are having a ball with the rod. If you think a satin finish would look better than a high gloss than satin it is.

Crazy lot of varnish on that puppy! Some of the edges were more round than edged!! Want to weigh in on thread wrap colors? How bout varnish finish? Satin, maybe?
