Biography:

My name is Luke McLeod and I took up fly-fishing in the Summer of 2011. My father did a little fly fishing when he was younger, and I have always had an interest. I tied a few bass flies when I was in gradeschool and junior high and did very well with them on a spinning outfit (I know, sinful). As the years have passed, I have gotten a little bored with spinning and baitcasting and I need a new challenge. Looking back on my early sucess with flies, flyfishing just seemed like the natural choice. Unfortunately I live in the middle of Illinios- the land of muddy creeks and muddy lakes. I started out fishing for panfish (Crappie, Bluegills, Bass) but I am more interested in trout. There are four ponds within an hours drive stocked by IDNR in March and October and 2 more about an hour and a half away. They are stocked with Rainbow. Very few around these parts fly fish, so most of my knowledge at this time is coming from books and online forums. Thanks for providing this one.
