PA Fish-In 2006

Fly Anglers OnLine
PENNSYLVANIA REGIONAL FISH-IN 2006
June 13 - June 18th, 2006
Waterville, PA

By LadyFisher

Dry Fly Guy, (Bruce Schneck) has put together a regional Fish-In for the FAOL folks in the east. Headquarters will be the Happy Acres Resort and the photo at the top of the page is the Lodge which Bruce has reserved for the event. The Lodge is a log structure which sleeps 16 with two full baths, a fully equipped kitchen, large dining area and living room with a floor to ceiling stone fireplace. It also has a wrap around deck which overlooks the stream.

As of May 16th, there were still two opening at the lodge itself. However the resort does have other cabins as well as campsites. You can check Happy Acres out at www.happyacresresort.net.

Bruce wrote, "A large room in lodge will be great for meetings, tying or just hanging out if we get much rain. Each day we have guys familiar with streams within about a 35 mile radius who will lead groups of anglers to these streams. I cannot believe we cannot find enough cooperative fish to have a good time."

Lake at State Park

As with all FAOL events, everyone is cordially invited. There are no registration fees, (except for lodging). Everyone is on their own, FAOL does not make reservations or arrangements for you. You are welcome to come for the whole time, or just a day. Whatever works for you. Families are welcome as well, and there are many local attractions.

Pine Creek is a well known trout stream, and is accessed via the Pine Creek Rail Trail. This National Landmark is owned and managed by the state of Pennsylvania which has contructed a magnificent multi-use trail along the old railbed. This is one of the most spectacular natural areas in Pennsylvania.

Reservations are being taken now. Ask for Gene Feerar and tell him you are with the Fly Anglers OnLine group, (there is a discount) 1-570-753-8000.

It's a great time, and an opportunity to make new friends, and to put faces on names. There has been some rain and Bruce hopes to have decent fishing.
