PETA anti-fishing call to action

I just sent an email to the PFBC and will post their reply here. I think these actions of PETA are unlawful in Pa. but wanted to make certain with the PFBC.

Form the looks of their web site this group is definately up to something. You can bet that they have the power, money and motivation to do it. Lets not forget that this is the group that sets dealerships on fire and hurls rocks at hunters, like me, with high powered rifles. I have no doubt that they intend to carry out whatever plans they may have. Just what exactly that plan may be we will have to wait and see. Be prepared for it folks.

It seems like every spring PETA threatens to target fisherman. Fortunately, I haven’t seen them in my neck of the woods yet. But just in case, Nighthawk, can I borrow your rifle? lol.

I would just net the thing and beat it about the head lol

How can you ever trust an organization that says that animal farms are just as bad as the holocaust…

Gee, maybe we should all order these for the fish-in’s: [url=http://www.petacatalog.org/prodinfo.asp?number=TS184&variation=&aitem=7&mitem=31:8ab9b]http://www.petacatalog.org/prodinfo.asp?number=TS184&variation=&aitem=7&mitem=31[/url:8ab9b]

Poor kid… He already being brainwashed…

What catchy T-shirt do they have for us strictly catch-and-release anglers?

These PETA people are loosers. It sickens me to think I may somehow with the taxes I pay help contribute to their sad cause. If even one red cent went their way I would tremble at the thought. These people need help, let me be the first to help them, with a ticket to Iraq, maybe the Taliban could use some more sick, deviate people. Tie a RoboFish to their chest and jump in the red sea a disrupt US Navy sonar. They probably have a cause for that too…just sick.

What I don’t get is why the government is so interested in fighting terrorists in other countries, but leaves the ones that reside and act daily in our country alone.

dead fish don’t make reel music

Comming to a town near you, soon!

I already ordered mine a week ago, been practicing with it in the pool.

Next week I’m taking it Mako Shark fishing with Conway Boatman out of San Diego, and were going to put it through it’s paces, the Mako shark is the fastest fish in the world. LOL!!!

If it survives that little venture, then my back up plan is to take it to Sea World and feed it to Shaumu the Killer Whale as a snack!

I really don’t think it’ll make it past the shark fishing, especially after having been marinated in chum for a couple hours while heading out to the fishing grounds.

When the call from PETA comes in to return the finned wonder to them, you surely have figured out what my response is going to be, haven’t you?

Yep! Well Miss Robertson, we had a little “accident” at the recent shark tournament, and if you want it back “YOU BETTER CALL MAACO” Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

ROTFLMAO!!!

All this PETA talk makes me hungry for a steak dinner eaten while dressed in a fur coat and leather boots.

Okay…okay…I just came up with a new invention. It’s a fake deer with antlers and everything, it even lights up. One could stash it in the woods and watch deer hunters go nuts. And in the Christmas season one could stick it out in the front yard and plug it in. It would light up and actually move its head back and forth. I could even make a doe and a fawn to go with him, and they would all light up!
hang on, wait a minute…“What’s that?” “They sell 'em at Wal*Mart already?”…dang it.

I think this is an issue that sportsmen need to be vigilant about. There was an article within the last month in the Phila Inquirer about a PETA rally on the boardwalk in Atlantic City. Same topic - save the fish a lot of pain. Previously, I read an article about the possibility of going after certain marine sanctuary areas and prohibit all sport fishing, on the theory that it is a protected sanctuary, and therefore no fishing at all should be allowed. In that particular case, the sanctuary was set up to prohibit commercial fishing, not a total ban and not sport, but you can see how that logic can be extended. Sounds silly but the idea could get traction. If this thinking can be applied to salt water, you can only imagine the fights that may happen in fresh. At this time because of the $$$$ that the fishing industry generates, not to mention fishing and boating licenses, there is not a critical mass in the public thinking to ban fishing, but in this crazy world “ya never know”, so watch what goes on in your neck of the woods and don’t hesitate to let your legislators know what you think! The hunting folks have taken some very hard shots (no pun intended!)in recent years, so it could happen to fishers as well.

Flyme - Is that the 72 lb 24 volt golf cart battery or the 2 oz. litithum?

No word from the fish commission yet but think about this: The game commission does have laws regarding the harassment and disturbance of wildlife. I think it’s covered under the “Fair Chase” laws. I think the fair chase law in our state is a good thing but wouldn’t it be a hoot to see the PETA pick pockets busted by the very law they pushed to get approved.

The PETA pals that I saw beating pots and pans in the woods were so dumb that they never saw me standing there with my trusty Sturm & Ruger Model 77 30/06. Mind you that I am a very big fellow decked out in blaze orange from head to toe. They did manage to put on a good deer drive to the hunters on the other side of the woods. Lots of shooting and many tags filled. Thanks for the sucessful hunt, PETA. They were quite upset at the site of all of those yummy deer steaks being hauled out of the woods.

“What we need to do is have everyone of us here sign up to get a robofish, then when it shows up in the mail throw it away. If we all do it, it shouldn’t take long before PETA runs out of robofish, or is it robofishes?”

Throw it away? Good God why? I’d much rather disable the noise generator (or just not use it if you can turn it off) and use it to find fish. What could be better than to use it for the exact opposite of PETAs intended purpose?

This would not be the kind of thing you would want to do with most South Carolina fishermen. You could end up having your robofish and the controller surgically removed from a very private place. 8T

You had better learn to be a happy camper. You only get one try at this campground and it’s a real short camping season.

RIGHT ON! I’m going to hang big magnets off my boat. One or those fish would look great on the wall in my den. Not to mention the joy of the pain the PETA dork will feel after loosing a 5000 dollar toy for scewing with me.

PETA…haha! Drop them off in the middle of open country hundreds of miles from anywhere with a gun and a box of bullets…see how many hunt for food vs shoot themselves…OK, maybe that was a bit harsh, but hey, these people are ignorant. There are so many more important issues to focus on. A robot fish? These people say sports teams shouldn’t be named after animals yet they created a robotic fish that makes loud noises? Hmmmm, sounds “fishy” to me. Sounds like something from a bad 80’s movie.

Vocelli,

I think you are underestimating them. I have met both sympathizers and members. The are primarily blue-state oriented, and that’s probably why you have never run into any of them. But they have been able to influence both legislation and policy in New Jersey. You might not care about New Jersey, but things can start in one state and spread to others (consider Vermont, for example).

They spread a lot of disinformation and it does influence the uninformed.

I strongly disagree that they can safely be ignored. I think we have to be prepared to respond in a reasonable and intelligent way.
