Foote Brook by John Engels
Excerpt from: Big Water
|
|||
At the foot of the slope down which we faltered, the night roared, the brook being in full spate. Unbalancing, we leaned into pliancies of birch,
caught ourselves against
we were almost there. Because of the moon
light did not abound, nor would we
than a minor brightness, yet its voice we could scarcely keep our feet. ~John Engels
