Mom's Fish Chowder
by Dick Taylor (Grn Mt Man)

Usually made with freshly caught walleyes (dad usually caught them through the ice in Lake Champlain in Vermont); but, I guess you could try your favorite fish.

Mom would boil the fish in water in a big pot till the meat could be easily picked from the bones.

In another pot would be potatoes also boiling. When finished they would be cut into small bite size pieces and put into a pot with chopped onions (to taste) and a can or more of whole corn. Add milk to cover the ingredients. After a short cooking time for the onions to soften, add the previously boned walleye bits and simmer on low heat. A few spoonfuls will tell you when it's done.

Nothing better'n a bowl of Mom's Fish Chowder on a cold winter's day!
