ROD BUILDING TIPS
Trimming Ends

By Len Schattler

Here's a way to trim your guide wrapping ends below the surface, so they don't show.

After cutting the thread, and pulling the tag end through, carefully slide the business end of a single-edge-razor blade down the thread until it contacts and cuts it below the wrappings.

This must be done very carefully, or you'll cut the wrapping next to it, and you'll have to rewrap the guide. It makes a very clean and invisible termination if done correctly. ~ Len Schattler (aka canu4fish)
