Default First stream smallmouth on fly rod!

I caught two smallmouth today on my fly rod. I am tickled. Missed a couple of more. Caught them on a woolybugger and a gurgle pop. They were small fish but helped my confidence. Lost about a 12 incher. I thought that I had been fishing a couple of hours and it was more like 4 hours. Time flew by as I waded this nice stream. I wish someone from this board would go with me and show me how to stream fish. The stream is about an hour north of Clarksville Tenn in Ky. I have permission from a landower on a good section of the river.

Sorry for the poor pictures. For some reason they show up pink in bright sunlight.

    Thumbs up

Congrats & thanks for posting! The main thing is that your bass shows up, & that one is quite a memory for you.

Oof! lovely! I sure hope someone takes you up on the offer.
I caught my first smallie last weekend and was simply put, tickled! Small fish but a hoot on three weight and foam spider.

Smallies FREAK when hooked. I've never met a fish species so adept at throwing the hook!

Crappiecrazy, Sounds like your stream might be in or close to Christian Co. Just where are you located? I am in Carlisle Co.

I tell my wife that if I'm running late, the fishing is probably really good. Or the fishing is poor and I'm just being stubborn. Either way, I'm pretty much never home on time.
