    Default Searching for flies

    Hello

I am Jim Quimby, Ski Patrol Director at Saddleback Ski Area in Rangeley Maine, USA. Most of Saddleback?s ski trails are named after Fly Fishing Flies (mostly Carrie Stevens Streamers). I am trying to locate the pattern or description and/or picture for five flies that I can not find any information about.

    Little Inky Boy (salmon fly?)

    Intimidator

    Thrombosis

Sneaky Pete (not the bass jig)

Peachy?s Peril, tied by Richard Frost, Rangeley Maine

If you know any information on any of these flies I would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you very much.

    My e-mail is skibum@megalink.net
    Phone 207-864-0922

    Sincerely Jim Quimby

    Jim,

I haven't seen it but there's a book specifically about Carrie Stevens. Maybe it has those patterns. If not, another book to search is 'Forgotten Flies' by Schmookler & Sils. If I can locate my copy of this book I'll post any information I find.

Not in Forgotten Flies, already tried that, also not in Fly Patterns and Their Origins...

Not in "Flies" by Leonard, and not in "Fishing Flies" by Blades.

    Sorry.

    Jim,

Add this to the list of books without those patterns: Bates' STREAMER FLY TYING AND FISHING.

Perhaps you have some additional information, where you happened upon these names, or is this just a delayed April Fools goosechase?
