I thought this up in the wee hours of the morning and thought I'd give it a try. It's a bit crude and needs work, but it looks like it will work well in adding a bit of movement and flash to some streamers I'm tying. Your thoughts...
I took the prototype spinner minnow out to see how it casts and looks in the water. It actually casts just fine with my 7wt. I just opened my loops a bit like when you cast any larger fly. In fact, it casts much easier than a weighted Clouser. It looks amazing in the water. The blade flashes like crazy on the retrieve and slow retrieves it gives a nice steady wobbling flash. It doesn't twist the line at all and I suspect that it would make an outstanding pattern for slow trolling. It also passed inspection with the bass. I caught two small LM bass and lost a very nice one. All-in-all, this one is an absolute keeper and I will be tying several of them in different color patterns.
