Alberto,

I agree; on all of the pronghorn I’ve purchased or seen in shops the tips are broken or worn down, like someone went over the hide with a belt sander using 30 grit. The piece I have came from a friend who harvested it in the Beaverhead Valley a few years ago; he said it helped that he didn’t have to drag it too far to his truck after dressing it out.

The tips on the tan and white sections are intact for the most part, which opens up a lot of possibilities for it’s use; for spinning, it wouldn’t matter because the tips, broken or not, would be trimmed away. I already put in a request for more from him; hopefully my order will be filled this fall. In the meantime I promised to tie up some salmonflies for him; he lives in Missoula and the hatch on Rock Creek is coming up pretty quickly so I better get busy with some foam things.

Regards,
Scott
