I already had tried that before, the updating of the .sig in my profile. No idea why the link comes out truncated. Suggestions very welcome.

You cannot edit the text directly in the Edit Signature dialog. You need to use the "Insert Hyperlink" icon. See examples in my new signature below. Top link goes to danica, bottom is correct.

1. Open the Edit Signature dialog. Not easy to find, but you must have found it already.
2. Select the url that you want to change. (or just delete it.)
3. click the "link icon" above (earth and chain)
4. a dialog box will open.
5. replace the old url with the new one.
6. click ok.
