You state a good reason for going with the smaller quantity, particularly if you're one of those ultralight hiker types that treks into the most remote locations to fish (as you sound to be).

For others with similar need, another option is SuperLube synthetic grease, which is available in a 0.5oz (12g) tube for $3 and will provide equal protection.
