I've a generally ambivalent. ( not sure which hand to use) Generally RH but can cast LH when needed.

I can cast with either had also, been doing it since I was a kid. I have to throw a spinning rod with my right but a casting rod with my left.
I am right handed...not much more to say. But I can backhand cast fairly well, which is what I use if need be.

I can cast with my left if I need but what makes me elite is my dashing good looks.
i can cast with my off hand if needed but struggle with line handling when i do. Most often i just slant the rod over to my off hand side and call it good
I have the same problem, I can get my left hand to do what it needs to do, but not my right hand. But, I haven't spent more than a minute at a time working on it.

I can cast and double haul with either hand. I don't have the same distance ability nor can I cast some of the specialty casts such as a Curve Cast as well with either hand, but I have found the ability to be useful when fishing. I don't do it very often, but there are some situations where having the option to switch hands can be very beneficial.
The ability to cast with either hand is also a very valuable tool for any casting instructor to have available.
As others have stated I too cast as badly with both hands as I forced myself to do this fishing from the back of a drift boat. After many years of doing this, it really does add a lot of flexibility to your "working around" back there. It does take quite a bit of practice, but trust me when I tell you that when you are at the back of that boat and the fishing is good, you would be surprised at what you can accomplish.
Great, now I can try to cast badly with both hands! Now, for my next trick - foot casting! Maybe that will get rid of the tailing loops!
