    Well, when you are sneaking into the fish hatchery at midnight....................

    If you have unlimited funds, there are hundreds of options, if you are on a limited budget look at the Bass Pro reels for around $30 - 40 dollars they hold up very well for most fresh water fish in my region. A big striper might do one in but nice sized catfish and grass carp have come to hand using them. I believe they advertise having a record red fish on one of their reel in Texas. I expect Cabelas has similar products.

    I like the possibilities here thanks. I checked out the some of the reels mentioned I like them all Abel Allen and the Galvan are all very nice. I have a G Loomis Venture 5 that has a pretty quiet clicker and that is the goal for the Midnight hatchery fishing. LOL

    I agree with Uncle Jesse with regard to Bass Pro's reels. I own and have used several of them and they are all still working without issue. I cannot say that about other budget reels.
