Lots of grasshopper patterns available Ernie and they do catch fish when the naturals are around. Hoppers are fun to fish as you don't always need the gentlest or most accurate cast. A hopper splatting on the water a couple feet behind are off to the side of a fish will frequently do the trick.

Scott has shown you an excellent selection above. One of the classic, and simpler, hopper patterns is the Letort Hopper. You can Google that and find pictures, recipes if you're tying your own, and a place to buy some.

If you've got a fly shop in the neighborhood of where you're fishing, you might want to visit them and see what they recommend for hoppers. Also take a close look at a natural, particularly the size and bottom color, and try to match those with your fly.
