Very nice Byron. I notice you have done something that I do a lot. Put a touch of dubbing at the front of the hackle. I don't know if it makes much difference to the fish but I like it, and it makes my flies distinctive. Usually I'll whip finish and seal the head, then dub a short length of thread, usually a quarter inch or so, then form a second whip finish with the dubbed thread. That way the fly has no head showing. It is also a great way to finish off bead heads without the unsightly collar of thread behind the bead. I covered this method in my video here. The method is around the 6.30 mark. It is a Bead Head PTN, but the method is the same.
