Actually I have "fond" memories of a family/ethnic Christmas tradition where ground carp or whitefish plus other binding ingredients were reshaped into a fish shape and served in an aspiclike gelatin.Usually with a sprinkle of white vinegar. Probably a Catholic version of Gefilte fish. That dish probably best defines why I am not a big fish eater.
