Coromandel streams

Lovely looking river! I've not fished the Tairua, but the photos sure make me want to change that. How was it to find access points and parking?

That's a great looking Kingie too! Bet it put up quite the fight. Getting that on a parachute adams would be a challenge.

Thanks guys, jeff the access is very easy, a little bit of gravel road is the biggest problem and it is no problem at all! There is a doc camp ground about 2 miles downstream from that pool so you can even stay the night if you want. I access the stream from the end of puketui road. Turn left into puketui road of the Tapu to Tairua road, drive to the very end of the road, park and follow the small stream down to the river or follow the doc track and keep an eye out for a spot to scramble down to the river.
