I managed to sneak out between classes and get some time on the water. It was on of those rare windy days in South Dakota so casting was difficult. Between that and the fish only hitting very lightly, the fishing was challenging. I had a LOT of hits but only managed to hook 5, 4 of which made it to the net. I was using a new (to me) pattern, the pink squirrel nymph. I might have to go buy a few materials so I can tie these for myself.

This little guy got his picture taken for being the most exciting trout of the day. He was the first trout I have ever caught by sight using a nymph
