Don - the dubbing ropes are interesting and maybe just the technique I'm looking for to give that segmented appearance with the material I'm most likely to use.
Bob - The Quill"Z" are also an interesting approach, also seem to be a possibility. I'll be stopping at the shop when we're up that way on the trip. I'll want to look at those for sure!
Silver - The Hends Body Quills also look like a promising alternative. Nice range of colors. Thanks for pointing me in that direction.
I appreciate the input.
Thanks!

Are you coming up for the quill gordon summit ?
Quill gordon duns have a dirty olive/yellow color up here. tie them in 10-14 and blue quills in 14-16.
Where are you staying ?

Bob,
I'm not familiar with the Quill Gordan Summit, what's up with this, any info would be appreciated?
We'll be up in your part of the country from 28 April through 05 May. We rented a cabin down around Haneyville on the south end of the creek but weather permitting we're planning a two day float trip from your end down to Slate Run sometime over the week we're around. Were still developing our plan for what creeks to fish and of course this will be driven largely by the weather we get when we're there.
Thanks for the feedback on the dun colors and sizes for the quill gordons and the blue quills. I had thought blue quills would run a bit smaller (18's) but I defer to you local knowledge and appreciate the intel. Do you have a color you prefer for the blue quills? Any other hatches you'd recommend we prepare for? I've got Hendrickson done and a variety of caddis, sedges and stones in the boxes. Last year with the early warm up we hit March Browns, Gray Foxes and even some Slate Drakes, but that was a weird year.
Again, thanks for you input and information!
